私には弟が1人います。弟は5歳年下です。
私と弟は会えば話しますが電話やメッセージなどは用がない限りしません。
多分1年に数回しか連絡しないと思います。
でも、弟は月に2，3回は実家に顔を出すので私が日本にいるときは月に1度くらいは実家で会うことが多いです。
弟と私の性格は全然違います。弟は総合格闘技をしている理学療法士で体を動かすこととバイクを改造することが趣味です。一方で私は家にいるのが好きで運動が大嫌いです。愛犬の散歩と週に1度のボルダリングが唯一の運動です。弟は海外旅行にあまり興味がなく、ついこの前初めてタイに行ったのが初めての海外旅行でした。とても楽しくてまた旅行したいと言っています。私は18歳の頃から1人でアメリカやカナダに行ったりしていて、中学生のころからいつも海外に憧れていて英語の勉強に力を入れていました。
弟と会う時、話すことと言えば仕事のこと、生活のこと、最近行ってよかった場所などです。最近は弟がタイ旅行に行ったのでタイの話で盛り上がりました。タイでぼったくられそうになった時の話やタクシーの配車アプリが便利だったこと、今回はバンコクとアユタヤだけだったので次はチェンマイに行きたいことなどでした。

In today’s episode, I wanted to speak to your heart—and your senses.

I want to encourage you to engage all five of your senses in your language learning journey. You see, language doesn’t just live in your brain—it dances through your fingertips, your eyes, your ears, even your nose and tastebuds. That’s right. When you involve multiple senses, you’re actually building stronger, deeper neural pathways that help memory stick.

Science tells us this works. Multisensory learning, especially when involving touch and movement, boosts retention and comprehension. When you touch flashcards, hear new words aloud, write them out by hand, or associate a scent or taste with a new phrase—you’re telling your brain, “This matters.”

And it does matter. You matter. Your learning journey is sacred.

So today, I reminded you to slow down, to savor the process. Whether it’s the sound of a foreign lullaby or the warmth of a dish from another culture, let your senses be your gentle guides. Let your whole body learn. And remember—there’s no right way to do it. There’s only your way, done with intention, done with love.
