こんにちは～！イードムバラク！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
ラマダンとイードが終わり、16日間の長い学校の休みも終わり、今日からいつもの毎日が始まりました！1週間前までは11時に起きていましたが、ちょっとずつ生活リズムを調整して、今日はなんとか6:40に起きました。でも、朝早く起きるとやっぱり体が良い感じです！

さて今日は前回の話に関連して、「サウジでの運転」について話しますよ～。
まずは日本との違いから。日本では車は左側通行ですが、サウジでは右側通行です。そして地域によって違うかもしれないですが、私が住んでいる地域では、ほとんどの信号機に待ち時間が表示されています。日本では見たことないです。サウジでは朝のピーク時には交通警察が信号を操作します。また、サウジには環状交差点（ラウンドアバウト）が多いです。
信号がある交差点で赤信号でも右折できるのがいいです。住宅街では減速を促すため、減速帯が設けられています。サウジでは日本と比べて爆走する車が多いので、住宅街では必須ですね。気を付けなければいけないのが、信号前で線をはみ出さないこととスピード違反のための監視カメラの前を走るときは絶対に制限速度を守ること。大きな道路では監視カメラがついていて、簡単に違反が見つかってしまいます。
駐車についても大きな違いがあります。住宅街にある学校、クリニック、小さなお店が集まった通りなど、公式の駐車場がなく、建物の周りに停めるしかありません。ピーク時には道路が大変なことになります。家の前に車を停めるときも線の中であれば路上駐車OKです。ちなみにサウジでは前向き駐車が圧倒的に多いですね～。日本では後ろ向きが一般的です。私は日本で後ろ向き駐車で手こずっていたので、助かりました。
サウジで運転し始めて9か月が経ちました。最初は本当に怖かったのですが、慣れるものですね。最近は、学校と家との往復だけではなく、行けるお店や公園も増えました。昔は外に行くときは全部夫に頼るしかなかったのでちょっと申し訳なかったのですが、今は気軽に近くのスーパーに行ったり、公園に散歩に行ったりできるので自由を感じています！ただ本当にサウジでは変な運転をする人が多いので、いつも気を引き締めて運転しないと！

それでは、今日のフレーズを確認しましょう～！
今日のフレーズは最後に出た「気を引き締める」です。意味は「気持ちをしっかりと集中させ、真剣に取り組む」です。

私は先日タクシーのアプリをダウンロードしました。
このアプリは目的地と待ち合わせ場所をあらかじめ設定することができます。予約が完了すると、タクシーの色と車のナンバーが送られてくるので、自分が乗るタクシーをすぐに見つけることができます。
予約したタクシーがどこにいるかを地図上で見たり、タクシーが何分後に到着するかを知ることもできます。
支払いはアプリにクレジットカード情報を登録しておけば、目的地に着いた時に支払いをせずにすぐに降りることができます。

このアプリを使ってみた私の感想は待ち合わせ場所の近くにいるタクシーが来るので、待ち時間が少なく、支払いも楽なのでとても便利だと思いました。しかし、私はそもそもタクシーをあまり使わないようにしているので、あまり恩恵を受けられないかもしれません。
