سُورْيَا فِي الشَمَال وجُزْء صَغِير مِنْهَا عَلَى السَاحِل بس كَمَان يَمُر خِلَالْهَا نَهْر الفُرَات ودِجْلَة. طَبَعًا عَاصِمَتْهَا دِمَشْق أَقْدَم عَاصِمَة بِالتَارِيخ.

We use borrow to explain we don’t own the object. 
For example: I am borrowing a dress from my sister.
We use lend to explain that the object belongs to you, but someone is using it.
For example: I am lending my dress to my sister.
