Evening Tea, Snacks and Chatting With Neighbours | Spoken Malayalam #067
說明
Around four in the afternoon, Kerala slows down for tea and a snack, and neighbours chat over the wall or on the veranda. English speakers want to ask "What's the news?" and translate it with വാർത്ത (vaartha), the word for news on the radio or in the paper. Neighbours never say that.
In this episode:
• Tea time
• The snacks
• Neighbourly small talk
• News of the street
• Gossip-safe phrases
• An invented scene: over the wall
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
