안녕하세요! 오늘은 한국어 학습자분들이 꼭 알아두면 좋을 "덕후"라는 표현에 대해 이야기해 볼게요. 
여러분, 혹시 "덕후"라는 단어 들어보셨나요? 덕후는 영어의 "superfan"과 비슷한 말이에요. 
하지만 한국에서는 덕후 문화가 정말 독특하게 자리 잡고 있어요.

덕후는 특정 분야에 정말 깊이 빠져서 좋아하는 사람을 뜻해요. 
이때 어떤 분야든 상관없어요. 예를 들어, 한국 드라마를 정말 좋아해서 밤새워 드라마를 몰아보는 사람이 있죠? 
이런 분을 한국어로 "드덕"이라고 해요. "드덕"은 "드라마 덕후"의 줄임말로, drama + deok-hu를 합친 거예요. 
그러니까 영어로는 "drama superfan" 같은 느낌이죠.

또 다른 예시로는 "뮤덕"이 있어요. 뮤덕은 "뮤지컬 덕후"의 줄임말인데요, 주로 뮤지컬을 정말 열정적으로 좋아하는 사람을 의미해요. 
예를 들어, 한국이나 외국의 뮤지컬을 챙겨보고, OST를 외우다시피 하는 분들을 뮤덕이라고 부를 수 있어요.

사실 덕후 문화는 한국에서 많은 사람들에게 일종의 취미생활로 자리 잡고 있어요. 
어떤 분야든 관심 있는 걸 깊이 파고드는 게 더 이상 이상하지 않게 되었거든요. 
오히려 "나만의 덕질 분야"가 있다는 것이 자랑스럽기도 해요. 
여기서 "덕질"이란, 덕후 활동을 즐기는 걸 말해요. 
덕질은 fandom activity, 혹은 simply "stanning" 같은 의미로 이해할 수 있어요.

그래서 요즘은 덕후라는 표현이 꼭 nerdy한 느낌이 아니라, 자신의 열정을 공유하는 문화로 자리 잡았다고 할 수 있어요.

ESTE CUENTO NOS HABLA DE MARIO EN LA ESCUELA.


Antes de comenzar la lectura.

Hoy es día de clase. Como todas las mañanas Mario se levanta con sueño. Hoy tiene clase de matemáticas, inglés y ciencia. Se viste, desayuna y comienza el camino hacia la escuela. Se encuentra con su amigo Alejandro. Los dos van juntos a clase desde que eran pequeños y siempre que pueden quedan para jugar en el parque al fútbol, su deporte favorito. Su mesa está junto a la de Mario y su mochila es muy parecida a la de Mario.

Cuando llegan el profesor ya está esperando. Se sientan en su silla rápido y sacan el libro, el papel, el lápiz y la regla. El profesor ha indicado un ejercicio que tienen que hacer. Es un ejercicio complicado. Cuando todos los alumnos están pensando en el ejercicio llega el director de la escuela con un alumno junto a él. Es un nuevo compañero de clase. Estudiará con Mario, Alejandro y el resto de la clase. Como no hay ninguna mesa vacía el nuevo alumno se coloca en el escritorio del profesor hasta que le traigan su mesa. Es divertido verlo en ese lugar, detrás del escritorio, como otro profesor más.

La clase de arte es la favorita de Mario. Puede dibujar cosas bonitas y la hora pasa muy rápido. Hoy ha dibujado un caballo. Le ha quedado muy bien. Cuando terminan las clases Alejandro y él se van juntos a casa. En el camino se encuentran con el alumno nuevo. Hablan un poco con él. Se llama Andrew y es de Estados Unidos. Es un chico simpático. A Alejandro y Mario les gustaría que pusieran la nueva mesa de Andrew cerca de la suya.

Life's too short to read the small print, right? The small print, sometimes called the "fine print" is the name for the terms and conditions you find on websites, contracts and other documents.

The size of the text is often a little smaller and there can be quite a lot of it. For these reasons, some of us don't read it all — even though we know it can be very important.

A company from the UK decided to test how many people really do read the small print.

The company, called Tax Policy Associates, hid a little surprise in the privacy policy on its website, offering to send a nice bottle of wine to anyone who read it.

It was the idea of company founder Dan Neidle. He wrote in the policy: "We will send a bottle of good wine to the first person to read this."

The policy was posted online in February, but the company was only contacted about the wine in May!

He told the BBC that it was a "childish protest" because "all businesses have to have a privacy policy" even though no one reads them.

Neidle added: "Every tiny coffee shop has to have a privacy policy on their website, it's crazy."

He said that the person who found the sentence about the wine had been writing their own privacy policy, and they were looking for examples.

That lucky person was sent a bottle of French red wine and the sentence offering the free wine has now been taken out of the policy!
