Disagreeing with people is an important and healthy part of working on a team towards shared goals. The challenge is therefore, how can we do this in a way that protects and even strengthens our professional relationships? It would be great if the only thing we had to do at work was to agree with people. If everyone around us had great ideas, and if our colleagues' suggestions always seemed like the best things to do. However, this is not the case.  A lot of people worry that if they disagree with their co-workers then this could upset them or damage their professional relationships. However, if we do it right, disagreeing with colleagues when it’s appropriate can be great for your team, your career, and your reputation at work.

Today we’re going to hear some tips and ideas for how to disagree with your colleagues, we’ll hear some great natural and native sounding vocabulary that we can use to do this, and then we’ll finish off with some challenges for you. Including a speaking challenge and a vocabulary quiz to see what you’ve remembered from today’s podcast. 18. Argumentar y Discutir ¿NO es lo mismo? Gramática Avanzada

先週ドイツに帰ってきました。成田空港からフランクフルト空港までの直行便だったのですが、14時間の長いフライトでした。おかげで映画を３本見ることができました。ちなみに、ドイツから日本に帰るときは中国上空を飛ぶルートだったのですが、ドイツに戻るフライトはアメリカ上空を飛ぶルートでした。つまり私はこの2回のフライトで地球をほぼ一周したことになります。
飛行機を降りた瞬間、ドイツの暑さに驚きました。ヨーロッパに熱波が来ているとは聞いてましたが、ここまで暑いとは想像していませんでした。事実、金曜日と土曜日は日本よりも気温が高く、日中は30度を超えていました。今週は気温が下がり、とても涼しくなりました。
もうドイツに帰って来てから1週間経つのですが、まだ時差ぼけがあるので、夜10時ごろにはとても眠くなって寝てしまいます。
みなさんは長時間のフライトの時、飛行機の中でどのように過ごしますか？
時差ぼけにならないためにしている対策はありますか？

Are you ready to get that idiom monkey off your back and learn 7 more idiomatic expressions to help you improve your IELTS band score?

The idioms in this podcast are quite useful. They should add another string to your bow. In our IELTS speaking exam we should also learn how to paraphrase. Learning how to paraphrase adds a really important string to your bow, as well. In order to gain a band score 6, it’s important to attempt to paraphrase as well as use connectives. Using connectives, like therefore, however, and to be honest, can add another string to your bow.

When we know how to use idioms, we can improve our IELTS band score, because it’s important to use some less common idiomatic vocabulary in your IELTS exam. Idioms are very common and used in everyday daily life. As a rule of thumb, they help the examiner to know if you have spent time studying common idiomatic phrases.

So, keep your chin up. And keep studying. Because idioms are easy to learn. You just have to take the time to learn them, and practice using them. Don’t let learning idioms worry you, because they really are fun. They won’t get you into hot water. Learning idioms cannot get you into trouble. On the contrary, they will show the IELTS examiner that you are dilligent, studious, and hard working. Nobody’s going to hit the roof just because you’ve learned a few idioms. Of course not! No one is going to be angry with you for studying idioms! They are a vital part of your English language skills. Native English speakers use idioms day in, day out.

SAN JUAN 3.

Oficialmente conocido como el Mercado Ernesto Pugibet por la calle en la que se encuentra, el clásico Mercado de San Juan puede ser un poco difícil de encontrar. Fue construido en el sitio de la antigua fábrica de cigarros  el Buen Tono y a veces escucharás ese nombre para la Plaza San Juan. El mercado y la plaza se llaman así por el nombre cristianizado del vecindario, “San Juan Moyotlan“.  Moyotlan es el nombre náhuatl del vecindario  más antiguo de Tenochtitlan que significaba “vecindario de mosquitos.”

El mercado de San Juan es más famoso por vender alimentos “gourmet” lo cual en México significa que son alimentos importados y europeos. De hecho, en el mercado no hay  dificultades para encontrar alimentos enlatados y en conserva y una excelente selección de quesos y carnes estilo “deli”.  El mercado también es uno de los favoritos entre muchos de los restauranteros más exclusivos de la Ciudad. Puedes encontrar todo tipo de productos de otros estados de México, además de algunas cosas de Europa, Asia y América.

A menudo lo más impresionante para los visitantes son los puestos de fruta y verduras donde la producción suele ser más limpia y brillante que en mercados similares lo que los convierte en puestos ideales para realizar excelentes fotos.  Los fines de semana, es posible que el mercado esté realmente lleno de invitados internacionales y de otras ciudades.

Originalmente era un mercado temporal para vendedores desplazados por una reorganización de los mercados de la ciudad en 1933.  Este sitio solía ser un almacén para la fábrica de cigarros del Buen Tono. La iglesia del Buen Tono a la vuelta de la esquina en la Plaza de San Juan es todo lo que queda de esa que, alguna vez, fue una importante fábrica local.
