爸爸和妈妈的故事
我的爸爸是医院的医生。妈妈是学校的老师。妈妈说，以前，他们是同学，是在学校认识的。爸爸坐在妈妈前面。爸爸不喜欢学习，爱睡觉。妈妈常常帮助他学习。爸爸不爱说话。他喜欢给妈妈买好吃的和好喝的东西。有一天下午，下雨了，有点儿冷。爸爸给了妈妈一杯热水。妈妈却说，我想吃水果。爸爸马上去商店买了苹果，只用了10分钟。漂亮的妈妈喜欢了爸爸。后来，爸爸说，他是坐出租车去的。现在，他们有了儿子和女儿。一家人很快乐。

Bàba hé Māma de gùshi 
Wǒ de Bàba shì yīyuàn de yīsheng 。 Māma shì xuéxiào de lǎoshī 。 Māma shuō ， yǐqián ， tāmen shì tóngxué ， shì zài xuéxiào rènshí de 。 Bàba zuò zài māma qiánmian 。 Bàba bù xǐhuan xuéxí ， ài shuìjiào 。 Māma chángcháng bāngzhù tā xuéxí 。 Bàba bú ài shuōhuà 。 Tā xǐhuan gěi Māma mǎi hǎochī de hé hǎohē de dōngxi 。 Yǒuyìtiān xiàwǔ ， xiàyǔ le ， yǒudiǎnr lěng 。Bàba gěi le Māma yì bēi rèshuǐ 。 Māma què shuō ， wǒ xiǎng chī shuǐguǒ 。 Bàba mǎ shàng qù shāngdiàn mǎi le píngguǒ ， zhǐ yòng le 10 fēnzhōng 。Piàoliang de Māma xǐhuan le Bàba 。 Hòulái ， Bàba shuō ， tā shì zuòchūzūchē qù de 。 Xiànzài ， tāmen yǒu le érzi hé nǚér 。 Yìjiārén hěn kuàilè 。

      Example: "I usually read a book to kill time during my commute."
   d. In the nick of time - Just in time, at the last possible moment.
      Example: "He arrived in the nick of time to catch his flight."
   e. Once in a blue moon - Very rarely or infrequently.
      Example: "We only see each other once in a blue moon since she moved abroad."
