In this episode, we take our story into the past tense! Building on "идти" and "ехать", I’ll explain how these verbs change in the past and introduce other important verbs to expand your understanding.

We’ll also dive into one of the trickiest parts of Russian grammar—perfective vs. imperfective verbs in the past tense. With clear explanations and useful clues, you'll learn how to recognize and use them correctly in different situations.

This is an American science fiction movie about three astronauts who are on a mission to Mars. When they find a stowaway on board, the crew must figure out a solution, since they only have enough oxygen for three people.

Vocabulary:
space shuttle: a space vehicle 
stowaway: a person on board a ship who wasn't supposed to be there
lifeguard: a person who works at a pool or beach to protect people from drowning
oxygen: the element we use for breathing
ethical or moral dilemma: a problem in which it's not clear what decision is right or wrong
unconscious: not awake
concussion: injury caused by being hit on the head

おはようございます。日本語だんだんポットキャストのゆかりです。

私は先週(せんしゅう)、
道後温泉(どうごおんせん)へ行きました。

道後温泉は、愛媛県(えひめけん)にある
とても有名(ゆうめい)な温泉です。

日本最古(にほんさいこ)の温泉と言われています。

日本最古とは、日本でいちばん古い
という意味です。

なんと、3000年前(さんぜんねんまえ)
からあるそうです。

昔(むかし)の有名な人、
聖徳太子(しょくとくたいし)や、
夏目漱石(なつめそうせき)が、
道後温泉に来たことがあるそうです。

すごいですねぇ‥！

みなさん、スタジオジブリの
"千と千尋の神隠し"という
映画(えいが)を知っていますか？

英語の名前と、日本語の名か前は全然(ぜんぜん)ちがいますが‥
この"千と千尋の神隠し"の
モデルのひとつとなった場所が、
道後温泉です。

建物(たてもの)は
とても魅力的(みりょくてき)でした。

温泉は、やわらかいお湯で、
肌がしっとりとしましたよ。

ご飯もおいしかったです。

道後温泉の話はまたしたいと思います。
