Nowadays, conference calls are the norm. Whether your team members live within a 30-minute radius of one another or live on different continents, you’ll likely conduct all meetings over conference calls. 

By now, you know some of the perils of conference calls. Someone forgets to mute themselves, and you hear them breathing or eating their lunch, someone forgets to unmute themselves when they start talking, someone is talking, and then their kid or spouse barges in their office making noise. No matter what unusual situation unfolds during a conference call, someone has to manage the conversation and make it as effective as possible. 

In this episode, you will learn how to lead conference calls. We’ll focus on audio conference calls, not video conference calls, which deserve their own episode.

小桃每天6点起床，因为她7点要去学校上课。她很喜欢运动，所以很少生病。她喜欢打羽毛球和踢足球。她现在一米四几，她希望自己能长到一米六几。她的爸爸是一名医生，工作很忙，有时候周末也要上班。她的妈妈是一名小学老师，有很多的学生。

她的爸爸喜欢看报纸，有时候看到开心的地方，还会读给她听。妈妈喜欢唱歌，她会唱很多歌。

小桃的房间是淡蓝色的，因为她喜欢安天空的颜色，可以思考很多问题。她喜欢每天晚上躺在床上看书，也喜欢看小说，她最喜欢的小说是西游记。

周末有空的时候，她们一家人会去外面饭馆儿吃饭。小桃最喜欢吃小笼包和西红柿炒鸡蛋，爸爸最喜欢吃饺子，妈妈最喜欢吃蔬菜。爸爸还喜欢喝绿茶，午饭后，他经常喝一杯绿茶。这个周末，妈妈打算去给小桃买衣服，因为以前的衣服太小了，不能穿了。

小桃最近在学骑自行车，妈妈给她买了一辆新的自行车，是红色的，她很喜欢，每天下午放学后都要骑一会儿。小桃很喜欢看动画片，但是妈妈不让她每天看，有时候作业太多，也没时间看。快要考试了，小桃要好好学习了哦！More episodes coming up....

「せめて」の意味はむずかしくないですが、使ってみると・・・
先生や日本人のおともだちに「それ、なんか変だよ？」って言われませんか。

「せめて」の使い方を勉強しましょう！


〈意味〉
十分(じゅうぶん)ではないけれど、少(すく)なくとも、満足(まんぞく)はできないけれど、少(すく)なくとも

★文末(ぶんまつ)はスピーカーの願望(がんぼう)やお願(ねが)いを表(あらわ)す文(ぶん)★
せめて+　～したい、～ばいい、～たらいいなぁ、～てください、～てほしい、～ましょう　など

①毎日じゃなくてもいいから、せめて一日くらい晴れてほしいなぁって思っています。嵐山に紅葉の写真を撮りに行きたいと思ってて。
②雨でも、せめておいしい京都の料理とか名物とか食べて、日本語もたくさん話して楽しく過ごしてきてくださいね。

①ねぇ、風邪を引いていて、全然食べたくないのは分かるけど、【少なくとも】このスープは飲んでよ。〈本当はからだのためにもっと食べてほしいですが。〉

       猫妈妈带着小猫在河边钓鱼。一会儿，一只蜻蜓飞过来，小猫就去捉蜻蜓。一会儿，一只蝴蝶飞过来，小猫又去捉蝴蝶，结果什么都没有捉到，也没有钓到鱼。这时，猫妈妈已经钓到好几条大鱼了。小猫生气地说:“我怎么钓不到鱼呢?“ 妈妈说：“你一会儿捉蜻蜓，一会儿捉蝴蝶，三心二意，怎么能钓到鱼呢?”
       小猫听了妈妈的话，就专心地钓鱼了。不一会儿，小猫也钓到了一条大鱼，她和妈妈都笑了。

小猫钓鱼

People in Switzerland eat more chocolate than anyone else in the world.

According to data from World Population Review, the average Swiss person eats nearly 9 kilograms of chocolate a year — almost twice as much as people in America.

So it might be no surprise that a Swiss university is doing research on chocolate — looking for ways to make it healthier and better for the planet!

Chocolate is made using cocoa beans, which grow in pods on the cacao tree. Each pod holds 20 to 60 seeds — or beans — that are covered in sweet white pulp.

Researchers from the university ETH Zurich have found a way to mix the pulp with part of the pod to make a sweet gel, which can be used instead of the powdered sugar that's usually added to cocoa beans when making chocolate.

Typical dark chocolate might be made of 30% to 40% powdered sugar. Testing different recipes, the researchers found they could make chocolate that was up to 20% gel and about as sweet as chocolate with 5% to 10% powdered sugar.

The new chocolate also had 20% more fiber and 30% less saturated fat than typical European dark chocolate — meaning it's healthier to eat.

Main study writer, Kim Mishra, told The Guardian that the new chocolate has a fruitier taste than typical dark chocolate — although it also tastes more acidic.

The researchers said using parts of the cocoa plant that are usually thrown away reduces waste, while using the new gel would let cocoa farmers get money not just from their beans, but by selling the pulp and pod parts needed for the gel as well.

It may be a while before we can try this chocolate for ourselves. However, ETH Zurich has already filed a patent for the recipe.
