our prevailing primitive state to their own advanced knowledge was completely uninteresting.
Does it sound natural ?
Honest answer: no. Why? The words are too formal next to "completely uninteresting," which is casual. The structure doesn't "X to Y was uninteresting" isn't a natural English construction. We'd say "the gap between X and Y" instead. The meaning is hard to guess. Simpler is almost always clearer. Hope it helps!
