Hello everyone! Could you, please, say whether we need to put article "the" before names of fountains? Is it "the Trevi fountain" or just "Trevi fountain"?
I will appreciate your help!

Hi Sasha,
For landmarks like the Trevi Fountain, we must use “the.” This is because when the name includes a common noun, such as “tower,” “river,” or “fountain,” we typically use the determinate article to refer to it:
• The Trevi Fountain
• The Eiffel Tower
• The Nile River
• The Statue of Liberty
I hope this helps!

American tourists in Italy would not see any difference. I think I would be more likely to say to a friend, "meet you at Trevi Fountain" at noon. But then again, American tourists would not be experts on the matter.
