So you want to take a lesson on Italki from a tutor or teacher to improve your target language… Here’s the right way to approach booking a lesson. The right way: Click on Find a teacher at the top of the page. Go to where it says I’m learning and scroll down until you see your target language then click on your target language. You can then choose where you want the teacher/tutor to be from. What they also speak. Their lesson price. Lesson type. This is important. If you want help only with a certain thing like Grammar or Spelling then click on which general things you need help with. If you need help with test prep click on the test that you’re studying for. Then you should have a list of tutors/teachers that are specifically what you’re looking for. But your search isn’t over then. You have the list now… now’s the time to investigate the profiles. Watch the intro video. Read reviews from past students of theirs. Read their profile. Not just the About Me section but there are sometimes other sections on their profile to read as well. Read all of them. Even if you don’t understand it completely, still try to read it. Their profile might have information specifically about their classes that you need to know about before you book a lesson with them. Send them a lesson inquiry and see if they reply. You are spending your hard earned money on this tutor or teacher so it’s extremely important that you learn about them first. Maybe they only tutor students that are at a certain level. Maybe they only use a certain communication program for lessons. Please read their profile.
