輔導教師I asked GG to explain the difference between these words: capacity, ability, and capability. This is what it said:
1) Capacity generally refers to the maximum amount or number something can hold or contain. It's often associated with physical or mental limitations. Example:
🗣 The stadium has a capacity of 50,000 people.
2) Ability is the power or skill to do something. It's often related to personal qualities or talents. Example:
🗣 She has the ability to learn languages quickly.
3) Capability is the quality of being able to do something. It's often used in a more formal or technical context. Example:
🗣 The new software has the capability to analyze large datasets.
Key Differences:
1) Capacity focuses on quantity or limit.
2) Ability emphasizes personal skills or talents.
3) Capability highlights the potential or potential for action.
In summary:
1) Capacity is about how much you can hold or do.
2) Ability is about what you can do.
3) Capability is about your potential to do something.
