輔導教師Lists create friction. Systems create flow. 🏗️
Looking at life as architecture is life-changing. For a long time now, I’ve built my entire routine around "Nudges". In case you're not familiar with it, that's tricking the brain into doing things without relying on willpower.
For example: if a task takes less than 5 minutes, it's standard protocol for me to do it immediately. The "no noise" of having the dishes done as a background task is far superior to the short-term relief of avoiding them. We all know that "You know you should be doing it but you've postponed the task" feeling. Same with reading: I keep a book in a corner so when I pass by, I read a page. Haven't counted how many I've read so far, but quite a bit.
Applying systems creates momentum.
The exact same method can be applied to learning a language. Instead of a vocabulary list (friction), what if you used your environment (flow)?
A post-it on the handle that highlights the action: "OUVRIR" (to open). You see it every day, you integrate it. You aren't studying anymore; the language just becomes a side effect of you moving through your day.
Curious—does anyone else "nudge" their routine like this, or are you still relying 100% on willpower?
