I'm Ryan, and I’m a proud baiano born and raised in Salvador, Brazil. Since childhood, I’ve been a curious soul with endless interests, but one passion has stayed with me through the years: languages.
To me, learning a new language is like unlocking a door to cultures, stories, and human connections. This fascination led me to study multiple languages, and today, I’m thrilled to share the richness of Portuguese with you!
I speak English and French fluently, so we can communicate in those languages if that makes you feel more at ease.
When I’m not teaching or studying German (my current project!), you’ll find me practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, watching endless movies or reading books.我的教學經歷
Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner, my role is to make Portuguese feel effortless. I’ll help you learn naturally, focusing on what truly matters:

Is there any topic you’d prefer to avoid? Am I speaking too fast or too slow? Just let me know! The fewer barriers there are, the faster you’ll progress. ✨
My classes are completely flexible: if you prefer, you may choose the topic, pace, and even the materials. I love using songs, movies, etc.
Want to practice conversation? Great! Prefer to focus on grammar? Let’s do it! And how about learning through play? I use games like ‘Guess Who?’ and ‘Describe the Image’ to mix fun and learning. A bit of adrenaline won't hurt! Challenge yourself—the more you engage, the quicker you’ll see results.

ReceptionistHospitality is a job field that I reluctantly began working and I felt in love. Dealing with tricky situations, a lot of pression and very picky people are some of the biggest challenges I discovered while working on a 4⭐ hotel, but is also an opportunity to grow and prove myself.

First lesson with Ryan was great, it felt just like talking to a friend I've known for years. His encouragement was really helpful in making me feel comfortable in speaking Portuguese. I would definately recommend him is a teacher.

Ryan is an incredible teacher. He pays close attention to your needs and tailors plans to your skillset. He's very understanding of different struggles while learning and does his best to make sure you feel comfortable throughout the entire lesson.
What I like the most is that he takes his time to write down every word you don't understand and provide definition, examples, and other helpful resources within a google doc.
He is always on time and when I was late not only did he wait for me to arrive, but he also still allowed me to partake in the full hour of my lesson which is often not allowed elsewhere.
I would recommend Ryan to anyone learning Brazilian Portuguese. We've covered reading, podcast, speaking, listening, and video material in just our 3 lessons so far. Can't wait to continue seeing my progress on this journey !

Ryan is a great teacher. He makes lessons really effortless even though I’m a beginner and lack many words.
