While teaching Korean at colleges for the past few decades, I have continuously witnessed the high demands of Korean education. Now I don't teach full-time; I just want to help those who wish to master Korean online. I want to make you express yourself in Korean no matter what your level.
I provide all the class materials including ppt slides, class contents, workbooks, etc. We work on textbooks (no need to purchase) and additional materials for practice. While we explore essential grammars, students will focus on speaking, listening, and reading. Those who need a customized lesson is also welcome. I value a communicative approach to Korean, which means that I emphasize the importance of speaking. Since we are meeting 1-on-1, we can do enough practices in speaking and listening so you can immediately express yourself in Korean. If a student takes 2 lessons a week and study everyday by oneself for a year, s/he can freely communicate with Koreans in a daily situation.
Each 50min-long lesson will run (roughly) as follows: homework feedback, main contents of the given lesson (grammar, vocab, culture), listening to audio, creating our own dialogues, assignment.

I have been learning Korean with Hyun선행님 for a year and a half now and as I look back on my progress over this time period, I notice a big improvement in my reading, speaking and listening skills. I thank Hyun all the time for her patience with me after class and her reply has always been that she enjoys teaching and it's evident in her smiles, her patience and in the structured materials she provides. She's a wonderful teacher to have and if you take her classes, you'll notice an improvement yourself when you look back on your own progress. 선생님, 고맙습니다.

Currently going through the second level. Lots of grammar points and vocabulary. 선생님 is very patient and she makes sure I understand what I have read after reading a paragraph by going through that paragraph sentence by sentence, word by word.

Park Seonsaengnim is my favorite teacher (out of 6) which I ever worked together through iTalki.
Context: My starting level was around late beginner as I could read and write and spoke some phrases. I intend to study over a period of more than one year and after more than 20 classes I can wholeheartedly state to have found the right teacher for a long-term teaching relationship.
King Sejong Institute material is the main class content. Besides being easily accessible (no additional cost for book, workbook and audio files) I found it to work well for me.
Park Seonsaengnim is a very intelligent and warm person. She is a good motivator, listener and has very clear pronunciation.
My favorite part about our classes is her humor and her unique ability to transfer Korean ideas or cultural/language context into western perspective. She excels in that also due to her teaching experience in the US and thereby her very strong English skills.
I always look forward to our classes. Thank you!

I’ve been taking tutoring lessons with Hyun for a few months now, and she’s a wonderful teacher. The lessons are structured and cover everything needed for a beginner to have a solid foundation in the Korean language. Hyun is extremely patient, encouraging, kind, and funny! I would recommend her to any person interested in learning Korean.
