As a qualified Special Needs teacher with 30+ years of experience, I thrive on helping students—especially those struggling with reading, spelling, or math—build confidence and skills. My love for cultures extends beyond travel (I’ve explored 7 countries!) into teaching: I’ve guided adult learners and children worldwide since 2013.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me hiking or beach-walking—but my greatest joy is seeing students progress, one lesson at a time. Let’s make learning rewarding!我的教學經歷
I have been teaching children for about 30 years. My specialty is working with children with Special Needs - particularly those who have difficulties with reading, spelling and maths. I am also involved in Adult Education, helping women who are training to be preschool teachers. 我的課程內容與教學風格
I have been working with students on Italki since 2013, and have loved meeting people from all over the world. My approach is to focus on reading a current news item together - which assists with fluency and vocabulary building. We then discuss the topic, giving an opportunity to improve communication skills. We also work on some language exercises that help to consolidate the vocabulary.
I have also had some experience at working with children on Italki - where we have focused on vocabulary building and fluency.
Many of my students have endorsed me for being punctual, prepared, patient and supportive!我的教材

Diploma in Special needs (remedial) - University of Natal South Africa - 1981This was a year long course which could only be done if you had completed a Teaching Diploma or Degree and had at least two years of teaching experience. It enables me to work with learners who have specific learning disabilities and require specialised teaching for language and or maths. I have been working with children in this field since 1982 and have also worked with dyslexic adults.
