really helpful lesson with kai :) i have a specific textbook we're going through, he has a good balance of chatting, asking me questions, talking (giving me a chance to listen) and discussing the textbook contents (grammar, dialogue...). the atmosphere is light and nice, but i learn a lot, i feel my confidence coming back :)

I've been with Kail for well over a month now, I'm noticing extensive progression. Well worth it, and I'm always excited for our next one!

Especially good today. Kai invariably enthuses me to want make conversation and, no matter the directions we go in accordance with my interests, is happy the happy knack of being able to speak at a level that counts as "comprehensible input", a level when I can understand most of what he says ... and, with it, it's conversation on subjects of interest to me, not just speaking Taiwanese for the purpose of learning Taiwanese. To summarise: excellent, I really enjoyed this lesson.

I'd definitely recommend Kai to other students. Today we started to deal with my longterm imperviousness to recognising tone differences. He approached this major problem knowledgeably, systematically and supportively. I feel that if anyone can repair the damage of my Chinese 'tone deafness', Kai can.
