Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile.
I'm a qualified English teacher (Cambridge CELTA) experienced in online teaching at all levels. I speak fluent French and Portuguese, as well as some Polish and Spanish.
I provide enjoyable, learner-centred lessons tailored specifically to you; my attention to detail and linguistic expertise enable me to focus on specific areas for improvement and to help you reach your goals.
Personally, I love travelling, reading about all sorts of subjects, food, and walking in the mountains.

I know it takes courage to speak another language, and so my priority is to create an empathetic environment where you feel safe to speak without judgment or too much pressure. I am flexible and happy to adapt to your needs, but every lesson will be planned for you, so there is no need to worry we'll have nothing to talk about.
I will gently correct and help you express yourself more naturally, while encouraging you to play an active role in identifying and fixing your own mistakes.
I believe it is important to use as much English as possible, even for beginners, but if I speak your language, I will use it to help you as needed. 我的課程內容與教學風格
Every lesson will be planned for you depending on your goals, your interests and what you need to improve.
Whether you want to improve a specific skill such as speaking, pronunciation or writing, or whether you would prefer to follow a structured course to work on all aspects of English, I will come prepared with materials specially selected to help you push yourself and learn something every time.

A aula com a Joan é sempre ótima e hoje não foi diferente. Eu finalmente estou começando a entender a diferença entre Simple Past e Present Perfect.
Nesses momentos eu percebo como faz diferença quando o professor nativo fala português, porque existem diferenças linguísticas que somente quando o professor conhece as particularidades do idioma do aluno ele encontra formas de explicar que o aluno entenda.

Joan is by far the best teacher I’ve had on this platform. She is well-organized and addresses mistakes right away by providing clear correction examples. Her lessons are varied and engaging. I’ve had more than 15 teachers on this platform, but none have been as effective and dedicated as she is.

Eu venho estudando pelo Italki há uns dois anos. E nos últimos 3 meses tenho tido aulas com a Joan e pela primeira vez sinto que estou aprendendo inglês. Com outros professores/tutores eu me sentia pagando somente para “conversar” com um nativo.
Com a Joan eu percebo que ela realmente deseja transmitir o conhecimento sobre o idioma e que eu alcance meus objetivos. Tudo que falamos nas aulas é anotado em arquivo texto o que me permite revisar o conteúdo das aulas. Ela disponibiliza material complementar a partir das minhas necessidades.
Tem sido muito legal as aulas com ela, pois a Joan é muito espirituosa, o que permite que as aulas sejam leves.
Embora o português falado por ela seja o de Portugal ela conhece muito a cultura brasileira e nossas expressões, então o sotaque lusitano não é um problema e quando não consigo me expressar em inglês (o que acontece com certa frequência) ela me ajuda a traduzir para o inglês esse pensamento brasileiro.
Eu recomendo o trabalho dela 😊😊
