Hi! My name is Emmanouil, but most people call me Akis. I’m a native Greek speaker, born and raised on the beautiful island of Rhodes, now living in Germany.
I’m friendly, approachable, and passionate about helping others learn. I can help you — or your child — improve in many areas: reading, speaking, listening. I’ll spot your weak points and offer targeted suggestions to improve them.
Each lesson is adapted to your level, your interests, and your learning goals. Flexibility is key.

I’ve been teaching Greek for several years now, and I’ve worked with students of all levels — from total beginners to near-fluent speakers. I speak English fluently, and my Greek has a standard, neutral accent.

If you're already familiar with Greek, we’ll have conversation practice focused on fluency, pronunciation, and accuracy. I’ll let you speak freely and correct your mistakes without interrupting the flow too much.
If you're a beginner, no problem! I have structured material to guide you step by step, and I’ll support you throughout your learning journey. I always adapt my approach depending on your needs and preferences.我的教材

Akis was determined to identify the level of my Greek abilities and quickly put together a proper lesson plan to get me started on progressing in the language. Learning with Akis seems effortless and fun like learning with a family member. He quickly adjusts and adapts to my needs or requests. With our 9-hour time difference, his schedule is flexible enough to accommodate for lessons at my convenience. He provides homework to keep me motivated and learning throughout the week. even after just four lessons, I'm already more comfortable starting and maintaining conversations in Greek. Akis is a fantastic teacher! He has really helped my daughter improve her Greek. She started lessons with a reasonable command of the language, but little formal learning. Akis has helped her make huge improvements, not just in grammar and vocabulary, but also in speaking, writing and building confidence and comfort with the language. Lessons are fun and engaging and she looks forward to it every time.
