My name is Ευτυχία (Effie), which means “Happiness” in Greek and I offer happiness to the people who would love to learn Greek! My goal is to keep the Greek language alive and thriving for another five-thousand of years! I am a teacher in Greece with a MA in Education. I have lived in New York but I currently live on a Greek island. In New York, I worked in Greek-bilingual schools while studying at Hunter College (CUNY). I used to work in the public school system in Greece, but now I have the pleasure of being the Head of Studies at the Greek-American NPO that promotes Greek culture and education. I am also currently working on my PhD in the Ionian University of Greece.我的教學經歷
I have 13 years of teaching experience in New York and in Greece, teaching Greek as a first and as a second language. I can teach Greek (A1-C2 level) depending on my students needs. Of course every student is different so I make sure to provide a customized program for everyone wanting to learn greek, specified to your needs, while moving at your pace. My subject expertise is: modern Greek and Greek history, not just the basic history that is written in handbooks, but from the “inside” history.我的課程內容與教學風格
My methodology is based on Constructivism which is the notion that people actively construct their own knowledge, and that reality is determined by your experiences as a learner. The major concept is that my students use their previously learned knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn.
