Hello! My name is Alison- Jihee, and I have been living in the UK for over 25 years. I am a native Korean speaker, fluent in Japanese, and proficient in English. I currently work as a Korean language instructor at a UK university, teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Having lived abroad for most of my life, I understand the challenges and joys of learning a new language. That’s why I am passionate about helping students not only improve their Korean skills but also gain confidence and enjoy the process. I believe language is a bridge that connects people, and I’d love to help you cross that bridge into Korean culture.

As a teacher, I aim to create a friendly, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel confident to express themselves. I have extensive experience teaching at a UK university, guiding learners of all backgrounds and abilities. Whether you are a complete beginner, an advanced learner, or preparing for exams, I know how to design lessons that suit your specific needs. My teaching is structured yet flexible, combining clear explanations with plenty of practice. I value patience, encouragement, and positive feedback. Above all, I want my students to feel that learning Korean is not only educational but also enjoyable and inspiring.

My lessons are interactive, practical, and focused on communication. I use professional materials from a UK university, so I can teach effectively from beginner to advanced levels. Depending on your goals and interests, I also include K-dramas, K-pop, news, and cultural topics to keep lessons fun and relevant. Speaking and listening are emphasized, while grammar and vocabulary are introduced naturally. Every student learns differently, so I adjust the pace and style to fit your needs.
