Meeting new students & teaching is my happy place. Excited to get to know u & hear you speak Sinhala I'm a Sri Lankan/US citizen living in California. After coming to the USA, I decided to pursue a career in the medical field. I attended university and obtained my BSc in Respiratory Care. Currently, I am working as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and living with my loving husband who is my high school sweetheart. We have 3 grown children, all 3 of them have graduated from prestigious universities; 2 of them are married and have blessed us with 2 grand babies who are also learning the Sinhala language. I started learning Spanish recently, and understood the difficulties of learning a new language and have learned tricks on how to make a language stick and the nuances of a language. I am from the USA and before I migrated here, I had been teaching English for 16 years as a trained teacher of English in Sri Lanka. I taught in Sri Lankan government schools from grade one to thirteen and have received awards for teaching English. Also, I used to teach English Medium Mathematics from grade six to eleven. In the USA, I worked in a community college as an adjunct professor as well as a clinical instructor of Respiratory Therapy. I love to teach because teaching makes me happy and alive and the satisfaction you receive when I see the progress of my students is priceless. Helping you to exchange simple ideas when you get out and on a street in Sri Lanka is my main focus but my lessons and teaching style will be different according to your needs.
