After taking weekly Sinhala classes with Pujathri for almost a year and a half, I continue to be impressed at how positive, friendly, and adaptable she is. She asks for feedback on ways she can help her students learn better and she has done a great job creating new types of material and incorporating new teaching methods. For example, she created Sinhala audio clips with quizzes, and she created short videos with Sinhala spoken at regular speed and at a slower speed. These have really helped to practice listening comprehension at a beginner level. Great job, Pujathri, and thank you!

Shani is the best language teacher one could imagine and wish for. I knew some little Sinhalese before, but I improved so much in only a month, it is amazing. Shani provides a lot of materials and techniques to boost your language skills. The lectures are well structured, offer different kinds of exercises and have enough space for questions and personal requirements. Shani is a very professional teacher (always focused, on time etc.) but is also on eye-level and close. Studying a language like that is really fun and I enjoy every single lesson with her. Shani quickly gets a feeling of what you know already, what you need, what is easy or hard for you. So even with her structured course I am currently following, it feels like very tailor-made for me. If you are looking for a Sinhalese teacher, definitely book a lesson with Shani and you will be most satisfied. 100% recommendations!

I'm a teacher, so I know what it takes to be a great teacher, and Don is fantastic teacher. He is intelligent, thorough, and easy to speak to. He strikes a great balance between teaching you rules and theory of the language and practicing the language with you. He is encouraging while also making sure you understand the nuances of the language. I would highly recommend Don to anyone looking to learn Sinhala.

In the previous 100+ hours of lessons, Amani always provided me valuable feedback and corrected my errors during our conversation in Sinhala, she was patient, helpful, and well-prepared, I could not have made great progress in my proficiency in spoken Sinhala without her help. Now I am even trying to read written Sinhala, something I had never imagined one day I would manage to do. I highly recommend Amani to any serious learner of Sinhala!

Der Unterricht bei Buddhini macht immer sehr viel Spaß und ist absolut maßgeschneidert! Sie beantwortet alle meine Fragen sehr geduldig und gibt mir Beispiele für die Grammatik. Extra für mich hat sie ihr Konzept umgestellt, damit ich mehr zu sprechen üben kann. Ich freue mich auf jede Stunde und auch zwischen den Stunden motiviert mich Buddhini! Meh apuura

Amanda is a rare teacher; cheerful, supportive, mentally strong, yet always compassionate & understanding. I do not fully know, but I suspect, she might be one of the best on italki. She would get my vote. I need to take a break for some time from lessons... which will be a loss (to me). But sincerely hope, I can pick up where I left off, on my return. I've been studying with Madushan for two months and I'm thrilled with how quickly I am learning Sinhala. I had an upcoming trip to Sri Lanka scheduled and wanted to learn quickly. I am now in the country and taking classes 5 days a week, Madushan is a very motivating teacher and his lessons are fun. He has a good sense of humor and is extremely patient. Highly recommend!

Taru is a genuinely caring and respectful instructor. I always experience her as patient and attentive when I struggle to remember or connect words in a sentence, which is really helpful when learning a lot of new things. She extends a willingness to meet me where I'm at in my language learning journey, and engages me in a way that feels helpful to me. I appreciate her a lot and look forward to continue learning with her :)

Nandi explained the difference between similar words in a way that was clear and easy to understand. She adapted to me having a different level of background than she expected. Looking forward to the next lesson.
