The trial lesson has two main goals: first, to help me understand your profile and language objectives. Second, I will give you an overview of my courses (conversation, literature, and culture lessons).

In this lesson, we have an informal conversation about a variety of topics, especially those related to German culture and everyday life.

I usually show one picture during the class and ask the student to describe it and share their thoughts.

The pictures can show scenes from daily life, typical German habits, traditions, food, hobbies, famous sights, holiday regions, weather, or even paintings.

I offer structured and personalized lessons using a shared Google Doc, where I create exercises for grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, and writing.

Current topics include:

We explore fascinating topics from German culture, including art, history, and music,  through an engaging PowerPoint presentation that I have prepared myself. Each topic introduces important German figures and events. On many slides I explicitly added questions for you to answer.

During the lesson, you will read the slides and answer the questions, so that you speak most of the time. My goal is to create a natural and interesting conversation while helping you expand your cultural knowledge about Germany.

This class does not include grammar or writing exercises. The focus is on reading and speaking comprehension.

German Culture (Oktoberfest & Co.)

We explore some of the most famous works of German literature together.
I have prepared five literary classics as nicely designed PDF materials created with Canva.

Each lesson starts with:
• a short author profile,
• an introduction to the work and its historical background,
• a selected text passage,
• and discussion questions.

You will read the text aloud and we will discuss author, context and content of the book. 

There are no grammar or vocabulary exercises during this course, it is based on speaking an reading comprehension.
