Hi. I'm Kurt Russel Gamalong. Some call me Kurt and others call me Russel. I am from the Philippines and has been teaching for almost more than years now. Personality wise, I'm quite a bubbly person. I like making jokes though there are many times that it had failed me. Nevertheless, I'm still quite an optimistic person. I like reading, most of my free time is used for reading. Right now, I'm reading Chinese Xianxia novels. I still have other hobbies such as carperntry and farming. One day, I will build a house with my own two hands.
5 years might not be too long of an experience teaching English, but it should be adequate. I've taught students of all ages from kids as young as 3 years old to grandpas wanting to learn more. I am TESOl certified and also trained in the JK-12 curriculum. I am also quite well equipped when it comes to IELTS speaking.
I am the kind of teacher who likes fun classes. I like to teach topics related to sciences, technology and maths. Freetalking is probably my favorite but I can also teach business English, IELTS, JK-12 lessons, exam preparations and so on. I can also help with editing articles and giving detailed instructions on how to make articles. I like talking about experiences of any kind, may it be travel, family, marriage(though I'm not married) and so on. I love my lessons with Kurt! I tend to be harsh on myself, getting upset over my mistakes, and after a few classes, I usually give up.
But with Kurt, I dare to loosen up, to speak in Tagalog despite my mistakes, to ask all my questions (and I have a lot of them), or even to vent about my journey learning Tagalog.
For the first time in many years, I’m sticking with it. And regular practice will bring the progress I’m looking for.
So, thanks a lot, Kurt. I really value our lessons, no matter how messy I can be sometimes. I’m still shy about writing in Tagalog, but we’ll get there. 😊🙏🏼
