Naturalist FellowAs a naturalist, I taught students from a variety of age groups and abilities – from preschoolers to adults – about the wonders of the natural world. I delivered lessons with a focus on interactive and student-centered activities to public elementary school students while designing and delivering public education programs for multi-age audiences. Often I presented lessons in Spanish and English to enhance understanding for students in mixed-language classes.

Teaching AssistantWhile in college, I was a teaching assistant for an environmental literature course. My role focused on supporting the professor through monitoring student progress during classes, offering review and editorial services outside of class, and contributing to lesson planning decisions.

學士學位 - Biology and Environmental StudiesMy college career was a blend of biology, environmental, education and Spanish classes. With a love for nature, and a passion for sharing my enthusiasm with others, I found my calling in an outdoor education course and have been teaching ever since!
For me, college Spanish courses that focused on text, audio and images from the real world were always the most engaging. I didn't just improve my Spanish skills, but learned the vital ingredients for learning a language effectively.

Education Activities CoordinatorFor two summers, I worked with the Summer Youth Corps program within the Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa. The program emphasized career development for high schoolers through various natural resource projects across public lands in Minnesota. As the Education Activities Coordinator, I was responsible for developing and distributing learning materials to the various crews. Moreover, I managed the progress assessment for skills and knowledge of each member over the course of their term.

I've been searching for a teacher that will really help me with my pronunciation, not just tell me "its fine the way it is" or give me basic advice; I think I found that teacher. Ben is super professional and very kind, listens well and actually takes into account what you discuss. He also has a very pretty accent. Looking forward to more lessons with him!

Teacher Ben is an excellent teacher and very friendly. He gives you the time and space to reflect on and correct your own work, which is incredibly helpful for learning.
