I took lessons with Sakura Yoko sensei to prepare for my trip to Japan. She listened very well to my needs, and adjusted accordingly. She also was very good at teaching and speaking Japanese at exactly the level that I needed. I really loved that she would actively correct me where I made a mistake and teach me how to say it in natural Japanese. For every lesson we agreed together on the topic beforehand, and she would always come prepared with a conversation and a scenario, from a dialogue to videos to use as a visual aid. Something else that was very helpful was that she would make notes during the lesson of words, phrases and grammar points and send those to me afterwards to study. I had a great time studying with her, and I feel much better prepared for me trip. I´m very thankful for the lessons and believe she went above and beyond so I could get the most out of it!

I just had my third or fourth lovely conversation lesson with Yoko-sensei. 45 minutes of conversation in which I could use many recently learned words for the very first time. Lessons like this one really boost a student's motivation. I could not recommend this teacher more warmly.

We went through 'times' on page 52 on Genki textbook and then went through pronouncing city's in Japanese I think for me pronouncing words in Japanese needs more work but I am happy about today's lesson

I'm so glad that I found Yoko-san. She has a great intuitive sense for my needs or for how the particular lesson is flowing. She is very flexible, but also knows when to explain and when to let me keep talking. She also has a very encouraging style. I look forward to continuing my classes with her.

Today's lesson with Yoko-sensei was particularly enjoyable, as she agreed to indulge my interest in understanding manzai comedy by speaking in Kansai-ben. めっちゃおもろい。Thank you, Yoko-sensei!
