As a native English speaker, I am VERY familiar with the struggles that come with learning a tonal language - in fact, I bet I can help you overcome these struggles better than a native speaker simply because I have experienced them myself.
I'm a native English speaker from the United States, but I have reached advanced and proficient fluency in the Thai language. I've lived in Southeast Asia for almost 8 years now, and I love teaching the Thai language and talking about Thai culture.我的教學經歷

A super-useful first lesson with Mike. I've had plenty of Italki lessons with Thai natives and this was the first time I have tried an Italki lesson with a Western teacher. I'm pleased to say that I learnt a lot from it.
Mike was able to give me the benefit of his experience in learning Thai and in how he dealt with a lot of the challenges I am wrestling with. He also gave me great feedback about small changes I could change my manner of speaking that would make me sound much more Thai.
It was quite a different approach to lessons I have had with Thai natives - and so very valuable and complimentary. Mike was also really encouraging - which is massively appreciated.

Mike is a great teacher and understands the difficulties for native English speakers learning a tonal language. His lessons are well paced, fun and engaging. I would definitely recommend him to others.
