I'm Mym, a linguist/translation, historian and teacher. First of all though, I'm a student of language here on italki and I know in my bones how it feels to book your first lesson: it takes bravery to expose oneself to another human's judgments and feedbacks.
Relax though, because this falls on ME to make you feel SAFE and build conversations that make you feel the language.
Successfully speaking a foreign language is such a source of joy, a boost in confidence that I wish everyone to experience at least once.
I'm currently a student of Chinese in Sweden. I have a Bachelor of Political Science, a Master's in History; a Master's in Finance and Strategic Planning from Sciences-po Paris

I value kindness, flexibility and healthy curiosity.
I will always teach you within a context - telling you about the implicit norms of living in France for example- and I take conversation as a building block to create a real relatioship.

It is important for me to understand your goals and how you will know that you have reached them. It is crucial to get this feeling of excitment once the goal is reached ! it's one of the best feeling ever to get to speak a language that was once foreign and that is now part of who you are :)
My forte is identifying patterns and global trends and providing targeted feedbacks.
I provide systemic feedbacks based on your strengths and most common mistakes at the end of every lesson and we can talk about the overall trend
If you want to work on something specific, it can be done; I genuinely enjoy having to improvise lessons, feel free to challenge me :)我的教材

I've been surprised how easy it was to talk to "Mym" while improving my skills (at least a little bit) at the same time. I'm still a bad french speaker and afraid of conversation in french. But Myriam encourages me to keep pushing, even if she pushes me in an almost imperceptible way. She's very encouraging and supportive, so I'll try to book further lessons with her.

Very good, not much else to say :D
Mym catches on very fast when I get stuck, but still manages to give me a chance to test my memory and actually use the language. Great sense of timing, and not wasting time.
