I’m Wilma, a Hong Kong native and global language coach based in Frankfurt a.M. Germany. With 14 years of teaching Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, I specialize in helping multicultural learners speak confidently through structured, interactive methods. Having travelled to 25+ countries and studied German and Polish myself, I deeply understand language-learning hurdles. Since 2012, I have been giving language classes to all ages (from children to adults). These experiences allow me to understand the difficulties of my students and help them in a systematic way.
From the beginning, I will try to evaluate my students' language level and customize a learning plan for my students. This learning plan will not only focus on speaking but also grammar, reading, listening, and vocabularies construction. It is because I believe that to be able to communicate and be understood by the other cannot only rely on speaking itself.
I consider myself an encouraging, patient, understanding, and flexible teacher. Your learning needs are my greatest concern. 我的課程內容與教學風格
My class is not going to be dull, instead, I wish there are interactions between me and you. You will be given countless chances to speak. My job is to boost your confidence by letting you speak as much as you can.
And my teaching style can be extremely flexible and catering to your needs. We can also utilize different materials (e.g. videos, music, books, flashcards) to facilitate your learning process.
I want my student to be able to speak in a safe and comfortable environment. Making mistakes is completely, totally fine. And I will make a summary of your mistakes during and after class without interfering you.我的教材

I've had quite a few Cantonese lessons with Wilma now so feel like I've got enough experience to write a review...I really enjoyed my initial trial lesson with Wilma and went through many many profiles before going ahead with her. Right after I had my trial session I bought a pack of classes because I was confident that I would enjoy continuing my classes.
My Cantonese is at upper beginner/intermediate and I sought iTalki to improve my conversational skills. Wilma has been very accommodating to my needs (what and how I want to learn) and creates a great environment for me to speak, ask questions, and learn. I've committed to taking lessons on a weekly basis for 45 min and hope that I can reach my goal of speaking very comfortably with my family when I go to HK next year :)

Wilma is fantastic - I've been working with her a couple years already. I am a native Cantonese speaker born to an immigrant family. I am bilingual but not biliterate. Wilma is great because not only does she know written Chinese, she knows jyutping too which is really what I was looking for in a teacher since my goal is to learn jyutping first.
Next, Wilma is very adaptable and mixes up our lessons from vocab, to demo/feedback, to free flow conversation. I think she's fantastic and welcome anyone else to partner with her!
