The use of news articles or song lyrics as a bases of discussion seems like a fun way to go. I like to discuss topics that the student would enjoy. I like to give an assignment at the end of the lesson so that we can discuss it in the beginning of each new lesson and build on what they have learnt in the previous lessons.
