- ...Letter of Intent I also was privileged to have worked with the owners who were experienced and would explain to me their ideas and why they would act like they did, it also gave me the chance to overcome the fear of asking for assistance. It was in my last three months when I was required to apply one of the most important skills in business, leadership. During this period I had to act like a leader by managing and being responsible for a project. Since I was responsible, I had to manage some employees and work with colleagues from HR, finances and quality department. I dealt with 10 employees, who I hired, and more than 200 clients. I believe that this is the perfect example of when the relationship skills are most important than theoretical knowledge. It showed me how to deal with different people, by changing their attitudes and behavior without offending them. What I aim for my career is to work in Canada and know how the companies are directed, know deeply their values and their structure. I am aware that Canada is in need of skilled workers and I will do my best to learn what will be taught in the course and apply them to represent the Capilano University in the job market. My objective is to work in sustainable engineer projects with goals to impact society positively and improve the living in Canada. The work practicum offered by the course will be extremely important to develop my skills in the Canadian business environment. I acknowledge the course requires commitment and hard work. I know it will not be easy but I am determined, focused and when I want something I try my best to get it. I am comfortable in working in teams and I have good interpersonal skills, I see dealing with people as an opportunity to learn from another and see things from a different perspective. The main skill I want to master is leadership, which I consider the most important for any professional, no matter the position I will work in, I will always look to get the best of my colleagues, so together we can reach outstanding results. You will be accepting someone who has a critical thinking, has an open mind, is available to consider others point of view, teach and learn with others, not only professors but students as well. You can be sure that I will endeavor to have a great performance in the course, that you will be molding an exceptional professional and will be helping Canada to improve by introducing me to the North American business environment.2014年10月8日00
- Letter of Intent I am writing to express my sincere interest in North American Business Management Applied Post Baccalaureate Diploma at the Capilano University. In addition to the information in my application, I would like you to know more about my interests and my skills. These details are as much important as my record to give you a perspective of who I am and how I would be an asset to the Capilano University. I first heard about the course in ILAC while speaking to my counselor, and as soon as I started to know more about it, it got my attention. The course has what I look for and consider essential to enter and understand the North American job market, especially in Canada. At first, the opportunity to study with students with different cultures is a unique experience, just the fact that you constantly require group work will change my thoughts and open my mind. In addition, learn from professors who have expertise since they have worked in the market is a tremendous benefit I want to enjoy. Other benefits I take into consideration are the small class size and the connection I will make with other people. I believe that not only the academic requirements but also the multicultural environment will help me to improve my skills and will be of great significance when I enter the Canadian job market, and Capilano is where I can find all of these. In university I had the chance to work with a professor and develop a scientific initiation scholarship program during my last year, I learned with him as he would guide me through the steps and show me how he, as an experienced researcher, would do. He taught me about commitment, focus, determination and self learning. I graduated in December 2013 and had the opportunity to work in a Brazilian small construction company for 7 months. Although I worked for a short period, I had the chance to work in different environments and learn about different areas. Unlike from my university project, in the construction company Maré I was required to learn and use social skills to work with colleagues. Initially I worked in the office to understand the company's policies and values, it's when I started being interested in business management. Since it was a small company, I was able to work with the HR, finances and quality departments and know about each one of them, which skills were required and how important was to the company.2014年10月8日00
- When to use "An x A" I've just read on the internet the following sentence: "Everyone who lives within an EU country is a 'European Citizen" Why before "EU" he uses "an" and before "European" he uses "a"? Since both of them comes before and souund like a vowel. And please explain to me which one is correct and why: "A American Citizen" or "An American Citizen"?2014年4月28日10
Hello Helena, don't be mad but here in Brazil, besides "the strongest" you're also known as the "craziest" ones.
In portuguese we use the adjective "sem noção".
I'm not sure how to express it in English but I think it's something like "full of nonsense" or "clueless".
When we see a video of people doing unusual/crazy things in Russia we say: "Of course he had to be Russian!". You know, videos when we watch and think "why did he do that? A normal person would never do that".
