Today I read a article about ancient Greek mythology, which opened a new world for me. It clarified the relationship between Titans, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. One of Titans married his sister, and gave birth to three boys and three girls. Titans are powerful but their three sons Zeus, Poseidon,and Hades, overturned/ overthrew their reign. Zeus became the king of heavens. Poseidon became the king of seas. But Hades was left to rule the underworld in darkness and in misery. Hades felt upset and want revenge. Afterwards, Zeus created man, and man’s prayers fed gods’ immortality. As I finished reading the article, I wondered why ancient Greek gods could marry their sister, even mother (12 Titans’ mother marry her son), which is beyond the reaches of my imagination. I plan to learn more the complicated world of Gods of ancient Greek.
