The current environmental problems, unprecedented in history, are due to anthropogenic activities causing imbalance in atmosphere. Climate change , for instance, is the root cause of global as well as regional environmental problems, such as rise in temperature, heat waves, forest fires, bio diversity loss, drought, water scarcity, torrential rains. As per the scientific reports, our atmosphere needs carbon dioxide, CO2, between 0.02 to 0.03 percent, however it is now over 0.04 percent, making earth warmer than what is naturally required. Resultantly, the temperature of the Earth is increasing rapidly. Global environmental problems are the result of pumping greenhouse gasses into atmosphere. Recent heat waves in Europe and floods in South Asia are the manifestations of it. Thus, in order to cope with the global and regional environmental problems, pragmatic and time bound steps are needed and the world should act unitedly to save the earth planet.

A flood hit several districts in a few Malaysian states. Oddly, it happened in February and March which is supposed to be dry and hot instead of rainy. Heavy rain fell for several days causing low lying areas to be inundated with a flood. Last year, an unprecedented flood also hit several areas in Malaysia. Mostly are areas that have never experienced a flood before. Many people are unprepared and shocked to see their homes, vehicles and belongings submerged in water. I had lost my belongings too, during a flood many years ago, while I was away from home. I sympathize with those who have lost their loved ones and their belongings due to this unforeseen disaster.

Extreme heat caused severe problems to every region in the world, arctic is melting ice, rising sea levels, increasing the number of tragic events, as result, millions of people could lose their homes from rising sea levels, we lose fish stock, the wild animal can’t survive in a drought area, not only this extraordinary weather impacts on economies enormously, affect our health, our education, especially in low and lower-middle incomes countries, children were prevented from going to school due to flood and drought, heatwave lead hospital admissions to chaotic, many of peoples suffering from the sunstroke in all of the countries. According to the cop26 ceremony speech, to protect our ecosystems, save the extinction of animal and plant species, every country must take action rapidly and efficiently to reduce emissions of carbon, use renewable energy, all governments should have persisted in the recycling system, educate citizen to keeps their environment pristine and air of fresh.
