はい、えー、ちょっと今日は、私の生徒の1人が私のレッスン中に言った、1つの文、ま、1つの動詞verb ですね、のことについてお話ししたいと思います。

えー、複合動詞（ふくごうどうし）compound verb のことです。えー、むずかしい言葉は覚えなくてもいいですよ。はい、じゃあ、えー、早速（さっそく）その文をちょっと聞いてくださいね。

・クリスマスぐらいの時期（じき）はみんな連絡（れんらく）する。

はい、どうでしょう。
これを聞いて、今ぱっと浮（う）かんだシチュエーションは、どんなシチュエーションですか。まあ、 その前の会話がどういう会話かで、ちょっと意味が変わるかもしれないんですけども、えーとー確か、その生徒さんがその前に言ったことは、言った話した内容（ないよう）は、 ”みんななかなか大人になったら一緒に外で遊ばない” というようなことを、言ってたと思うんですね。 
で、その次に

・クリスマスぐらいの時期はみんな連絡する。

と言ったんですね。はい えーこれ、皆さんどういうシチュエーションを思い浮かべましたか。えーっと、これはまあ、私はその生徒が言いたいことをすぐわかりました。ま、多分日本人もみんなすぐ、意味はわかると思うんですけども、ちょっとこれパーフェクトの文じゃないんですよね。 
え、おそらく、その生徒が本当にいたかったのが、

・クリスマスぐらいの時期（じき）はみんな連絡（れんらく）し合う。


はい、”連絡し合う” を言いたかったんだと思います。えーし合うeach othertですね。 
「お互いに連絡し合う」、はい。で、えー連絡し合うだとeach other なんですけども、おー、お互いなんですけども、『クリスマスぐらいの時期はみんな連絡する』 だとま、オッケーかもしれないんですけど、お互いではなく、 なんか誰かに連絡をしている感じがするかもしれないんですね え、例えば、じゃあ、ちょっと会話の例を紹介（しょうかい）しますね。

A：クリスマスぐらいの時期は、みんな連絡するんだよ。
B：誰に？
A：それぞれの家族に。お母さんやお姉さんに。

はい、 どうでしょうこのちがい少しわかりますか。うん、お互いじゃないかもしれないんですね、うん、 家族かもしれないし、友達かもしれない。
はいじゃ、ちょっと他の例もお紹介しますね。

①その会議で、A社の社員とB社の社員は意見を言い合った。とてもいい意見の交換（こうかん）をして、少しずついいアイデアが出てきた。

はい。じゃ、もう1つ、複合動詞 compound verb じゃない方の文もいますね。

②その会議で、A社の社員とB社の社員は意見を言った。 

うん、これだと、例えば1人1回ずつ意見を言ったのかもしれないし、 えーそれとも、他の会社の社員の方に意見を言ったのかもしれないし。これだけじゃちょっと意味が、100パーセントわからないんですね。
悪い文章じゃないんですよ。うん、いい文章なんですけども、うーん、each other, 言い合った、お互いに合ったのかどうなのか、ちょっとわからないんですね。意味が変わってくる。 

はい、どうでしょう、わかりますか。じゃあ、最後に2つ, 2パターンの文を紹介しますね。2つずつ。じゃあ、ちょっと自分で意味を最後考えてみてください。
 
①サムさんとウヘイ先生は助け合った。
②サムさんとヨウヘイ先生は助けた。

はい、どう違いますか。じゃあ、もう1つ

①ゆきこちゃんとナンシさんは、手紙を出し合っている。
②ゆきこちゃんとナンシーさんは、手紙を出している。

はい、どういうちがいがありますか。 
じゃあ、ちょっと自分で考えてみてください。はいじゃ、今日も聞いてくれてありがとうございます。皆さん、日本語の勉強がんばってください。
