Community-TutorđŠđ· Small everyday habits in Argentina
In Argentina there are many small everyday social habits that people do almost automatically.
They are not written rules, but most people learn them simply by living in the culture.
Some examples:
1ïžâŁ Saying âGood morning / Good afternoon / Good eveningâ when entering a place
âą When you enter a shop, office, clinic, or even an elevator, itâs common to greet everyone.
2ïžâŁ Saying âprovechoâ when someone is eating
âą If you arrive at a table or pass by people who are eating, many people say âprovechoâ ("enjoy your meal").
3ïžâŁ Greeting with a kiss on the cheek
âą In many social situations, even between people who donât know each other very well, itâs normal to greet with a kiss on the cheek.
4ïžâŁ Offering mate if you are drinking it
âą If someone arrives and you are drinking mate, it is customary to offer it. Even if they say no, offering is part of hospitality.
5ïžâŁ Using diminutives to sound more friendly
âą Words like "momentito", "segundito", or "ratito" are often used to make requests sound softer or friendlier.
These are small details, but they are part of everyday Argentine culture.
