The high salaries of movie stars, sportspersons and singers are highly debatable. I agree that they well deserve it, so they should be paid a handsome amount of salary, whereas there are many other professions, which should also be highly paid. On the one hand, there are many reasons to support the fact that celebrities should be paid handsome salaries. Firstly, everyone could not become a celebrity. A lot of hard work is required to be a famous actor, sportsperson or singer because they have to face a lot of cut-throat competition. For example, a famous cricketer, Virat Kohli, stated in an interview that he started practising cricket when he was four years old and was selected for an Indian Cricket team only after 18 years of persistent hard work. Secondly, these celebrities can act as inspirational role models for youth, meaning if celebrities are paid well, this acts as a motivating factor for others. Finally, these people can not live freely once they are in limelight, as they are always surrounded by the media and public and therefore at least deserve high remuneration for their work as a compensatory amount. On the other hand, there are many other jobs which should be highly paid. First of all, doctors are well deserved because initially they have to study hard to become doctors, and then their job is also tough because they have to be available 24/7 to treat medical emergencies. Furthermore, people in defence should also be paid well because they put their lives at risk to safeguard the country. Lastly, scientists and engineers should also be on the high-paid job list as they contribute so much to new inventions, which is favourable for the nation's progress. In conclusion, there is no harm in paying celebrities their share of high salaries, but other well-deserved professions should also be highly paid and respected equally.
