A “flangiprop” is a girl who has moved from a little village or a town to the capital and who’s trying to settle down there. She has a belief that she will be lucky enough to meet her Prince (Prince Charming?) and get married. She wants a luxurious lifestyle. But we have the saying in Russia 'You can move a girl from a village, but you can't remove the village from the girl'.
