I am Yasemin from Turkey. I am a native Turkish speaker and an English teacher.
I studied English Language and Literature at Karadeniz Technical University and obtained the certificate of pedagogical formation programme which allows me to teach English in Turkey. This programme lasted 2 semesters (9 months) and involved 3 months of training at a public primary school in Turkey.
During my studies I had the opportunity to have Erasmus experience both in Italy and Spain. I had 3 months of Erasmus traineeship at a language course in Spain.

I am open-minded. During conversation classes, we can talk about a wide range of topics. More than a teacher, I prefer to assist the learners as a friend or a supervisor.
I have strong communication skills, both in the English and Turkish languages and in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Moreoever, my international experience improved my openmindness. I am patient and have empathy which provides invaluable support to learners as they navigate the challenges of language acquisition.
In addition to that I believe that classes must be fun; some creativity, jokes and chats which will help to improve speaking skills are welcomed. Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I prefer to focus on communication skills, giving tasks and homework to complete. The teaching style would depend on the level and the needs of the learners. I would focus more on grammar and basic vocabulary with an A1-A2 learner while focusing on writing, speaking, listening, and reading skills more with a B1 learner.
I believe that language is not learned but acquired. Students should be exposed to the target language as much as possible.

Yasemin is a very thoughtful and patient in her approach to teaching. She shows genuine interest in my progress and I very much enjoy her detailed explanations of the language as this affords me a greater level of insight into how Turkish works. I think Yasemin is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her to others. I very much look forward to our next lesson together.
