Profesor profesional*자신감 and 자존감 are the same?❌❌❌
Even Koreans don't know the difference.
자신감 (Confidence)
Believing that you can do something. But once you make mistakes or fail, confidence tends to disappear (자신감은 없어지기 마련이다).
That’s why telling someone to “have confidence” while studying Korean doesn’t really help.
The mindset of “And?” even after making mistakes or failing.
In Korea, saying someone has high self-esteem is a huge compliment.
It means they don’t compare themselves to others and just keep moving forward.
Personally, I believe that when studying Korean, what you need is not ‘confidence’ but ‘self-esteem’.
Even if you forget words or study the wrong kind of Korean for years, that’s okay.
All you have to do is ask humbly, keep learning, and trust that one year from now, you’ll see your progress.
We gon’ make it.
