Tutor de la comunidadWanting to register for an English class on Italki with an Italki community tutor or professional teacher?
Here's some things you really need to do to make sure your first class with your tutor/teacher goes well.
1.) Read the tutor/teacher's profile that describes them as a teacher, about their lesson style and more.
2.) Actually attend the class that you signed up for and show up on time.
3.) If you're going to be late to class or can't attend, at least let your tutor/teacher know. That's the polite thing to do.
4.) Make sure your profile is correct. If you are not from the United States make sure it doesn't say 'From the United States.' SO many students on Italki have false information on their profiles. Make sure your profile has your correct location where you are actually from and where you're living currently.
5.) Fill out the teacher inquiry. If you want a tutor or teacher to help you, give them as much information about you and your learning language needs ahead of time.
6.) Check with the tutor/teacher what platform is preferred for the lesson. Most students don't realize this but all tutors/teachers automatically must list 'Italki Classroom' as an option. We as tutors/teachers can not remove that option, even if we do not use it. Do not assume all tutors/teachers use 'Italki Classroom'. Some use only Skype or maybe just Zoom. Make sure you have the right platform that the tutor/teacher requires for your class.
