3 Awesome Web-Sites to Sharpen Your English Skills at Home! The key is to train all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) and the websites will offer different approaches depending on your level and personal preferences. Let's dive in! 1 - Genius Music can be a great way to learn English — and not just vocabulary and pronunciation, but cultural issues and concepts as well. When you find a song you really enjoy, a great site to visit is Genius.com. Genius is like a Wikipedia for music, where you can find more than just the lyrics to songs. You can help to translate the songs into other languages, and ask questions or offer explanations for specific lines and phrases. 2 - Simple Wikipedia Speaking of Wikipedia, there’s also Wikipedia. Yes, you already know about it. But perhaps, like me, you forget what an amazing resource it is for learning about every topic under the sun. In addition to the regular English Wikipedia, there is also a special Simple Wikipedia — which is particularly helpful if you find the articles on the regular website to be too long or confusing. Simple Wikipedia features short articles, many of which are written in Basic English, using only 850 vocabulary words. 3 - YouGlish Obviously, YouTube is another great resource for learning English and practicing your listening skills. When you want to better understand a particular word or phrase, though, a helpful website to consider is YouGlish. YouGlish lets you listen to how a particular phrase is used by native speakers. You simply type in a phrase, and YouGlish will show you clips from hundreds of videos on YouTube (along with their subtitles). I hope it was fun and helpful so hop on one of them and explore your interests further & learn something new! If you need help with IELTS speaking, be prepared for a job interview in English or simply need to be more confident and less affraid to speak.. Book a one-on-one meeting with me now. See you in 5!
