Some people think that teens should follow the old generation and take their advice, whereas others opine that children should question the old people's thoughts. I agree with the latter view and believe adolescents should not blindly follow their elders. On one hand, people say teenagers should follow and seek advice from older people. This is because old people are much more experienced and they had already gone through the similar situations in the past. So, to seek guidance and take wise decisions, youngsters should follow the footsteps of their elders. Moreover, old people know the temperament of teenagers, and they can advice them accordingly. Old people bring calm to the discussion which can prevent the teens from taking wrong decisions in hurry or anger. Nevertheless, despite the above arguments, I believe teenagers should question and challenge old people's thoughts and decisions. Teenagers are a part of a global village and their needs have been changed completely. Old generation is unable to understand the contemporary world full of technology and modernization; therefore, older people's advice won't be of any relevance here. Besides this, some old people are still in the favour of dowry system and don't encourage gender equality. They still believe that women's obligations are only confined to the home and kitchen. Such stereotype mentality can't be accepted today, so teenagers should bluntly challenge old people in such cases; if not challenged, it is detrimental to society. To conclude, old people are experienced and so can be consulted to seek advice, but to follow them blindly is not a wise approach.
