Last weekend, I went to a concert. It was a Japanese and Brazilian music concert
played with a Koto (a Japanese harp), a Shakuhachi (a Japanese flute), and a Pandeiro (a Brazilian tambourine). I was impressed with sounds of a Koto playing the Samba. It was
good in the Samba even though it is a Japanese instrument. I also was surprised about the Pandeiro. It was my first time to listen to one, and it sounded like a
set of percussions. I thought it sounded like a bass drum, timpani, snare drum
and tambourine combined. The Pandeiro player said it could be tuned, and for that reason, it is different from a tambourine. Once the Pandeiro started to play, I felt
like I was in Brazil. It was novel experience, and I had a good and relaxing
holiday.
