Last weekend was my birthday, and it was a very special day for me. I had been looking forward to it for a long time, because birthdays always feel like a chance to celebrate life and to feel the love of people around me. Even though it was a happy day, it was also a little busy. My dance circle had a big performance, so I could not spend the whole day celebrating with my family. I felt a little sad about that, but I also knew the performance was important, and I was proud to take part in it. When I finally came home after the event, I was surprised by my sister. She had prepared macarons, a sweet message, and some flowers for me. It made me feel warm inside, because she thought about me even though I was busy. My parents also gave me a bottle of champagne. It was their way of showing congratulations, and I appreciated their kindness. I realized that even if we could not sit together for a big party, their small actions showed their love. One thing is still missing, though. We have not eaten my birthday cake yet. I am really looking forward to sharing it with everyone soon. Eating cake together will be the final step to complete my birthday celebration, and I hope it will be a joyful moment for all of us.

I just returned from my last trip. This time, I visited three cities that were over 2000 kilometres from my hometown. Ater our flight was cancelled, we finally got to my destination by plane from another airline. After arriving there, eating local food definitely appeared on my must-do list. We tried our best to enjoy the local snacks and visit the famous scenic spots in a limited time. Then we got to the next destination by train. It's charming city was located by sea. See food could be seen everywhere, so we had many big sea food meals until we left there. The last city was also located by sea, we swam in the sea every day. The cool wind from the sea easily colled us off in such a hot summer. The beach was full of joys. When we got tired, barbecue always brought us different experience about the sea. Grilled sea food with beers could be the best choice in a summer night. The trip was always short, But the next trip is on the way.

Hello, I was wondering if the phrase “second guess someone else” could mean “doubt the person’s decision”. I did some research for it, then just found out the meaning of “guess what the one will do”. Is it not right to use the phrase that way? I appreciate your help.

I thought both answers might do better in the longer form than a simple "well" and "good". I'm doing well. I'm in good health/shape. I'm good on my end. Etc. He fixes faucets well. He fixes faucets good. So a plumber has fixed the broken pipe clumsily, and yet the outcome turned out to be good. At the same time, another plumber might have elegantly fixed it well, akin to an art performance, and yet failed to solve the problem.

Does it sound archaic? Though things aren't always black and white, I still offer my unmitigated yes as my final word on the matter.

Yesterday was my close friend’s birthday at university, so we all went out to drink together. It was her first time drinking alcohol, so she made a very bitter face at first. However, she found a drink that tasted good for her, and she looked very happy, so I was glad. My other friends drank a lot, so they acted in ways I had never seen before. It was very funny for me, but it was also a little difficult because they did not want to walk properly. We had to help them move, and it took a long time to get everyone together.On the way back, my friend’s boyfriend came to pick us up, so we all went home by car. I felt very safe because we did not have to walk anymore. We also ate a lot of delicious food during the night, so I was very satisfied.
