I came across a report about "How To Extend a Healthy Lifespan". I would like to summarize and share some of the interesting points here. The method is that you need to build up your physique so that you can walk until 100 years old. Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan research says that the average number of steps among people per day at the age of over 20 is 6628 steps and 5659 steps in the case of male and female, respectively. Both male and female have been decreasing the number for the past ten years. Walking enables our joints to keep moving smoothly and strengthen our muscles. It builds a virtuous circle. On the other hand, staying still makes our blood circulation worse and our muscles are stiff. That's why it is very important to walk on your own in a lifespan of a century. Hence, we need to know about our balanced ancles' position and to understand how to move our foot which maintains the shape of tarsal tunnel correctly. The best practice is to walk while you squeeze your foot thumbs and balls of the foot. Many Japanese used to wear a Japanese wooden clogs called "Geta" even though we only see them during summer festivals and so on. People had to squeeze their foot thumbs and balls of the foot when you wore their geta. I had wore them when I was a little kid. So, it might be easy for us to image the method. I'm going to give it a try at work.
