I have two reasons. First of all this service is helpful for customers. They have to wait at home for the packages to arrive. If delivery companies could put packages by their entrance,they do not have to wait at home. Second,the delivery campanies can reduce delivery costs. If customers do not stay in their home, drivers need to go to the same house again. For the reasons that I mentioned this service is going to mecome common in the future.
