To thank someone in my language we say "grazie". A more formal way could be "la ringrazio" that is a kind of courtesy form in third person. "Grazie mille" is similar to "thank you very much".

In italian: grazie (thanks) , 'ti ringrazio' or formal 'la ringrazio' (I thank you) , molto gentile (very kind of you), 'grazie mille' or 'molte grazie' (thanks a lot) A very peculiar one that comes to my mind is 'a buon rendere' which means something like I will exchange the favour sooner or later...
