カルメンさん、今日は、ネットの状態がよくなくて、聞きにくかったと思います。すみませんでした。久しぶりでしたが、少し練習すれば、正しく言うことができました。忙しいと思いますが、少しずつ練習していきましょう。お話しできてうれしかったです。

カルメンさん、今日は。L29のリスニングをしました。一度聞いただけで、ほとんどの内容を聞き取ることができていました。素晴らしいです。テキストの内容も、間違えずに答えることができているので、この調子で進んでいきましょう。文型を練習しながら、できるだけ、会話を取り入れていきます。L29は、終わりました。

カルメンさん、今日は、L28のリスニングをしました。一度聞いただけで、ほとんどの質問に答えることができました。リスニングは、いつもよくできますね。一度のレッスンでは、定着はできませんが、チャットボックスの復習をしてみてください。それだけでも効果的です。このみんなの日本語は、少しずつ前の学習内容が繰り返し出てきますので、進んでいきましょう。ワークブックがあれば、終わったら、問題を解いてみることをお勧めします。

    I personally think that the expression is rude no matter if you are with friends or not. It's better to say "what is her/his name?" or "I am very sorry but I can't remember the name of SO and SO (e.g., the woman who was here yesterday, John's friend, etc).

    So technically both sentences are correct but the statements differ slightly from one another?


    I feel your pain, I am struggling with Japanese because the sentence structure does not make sense to me. I feel like there is no specific rule that applies to most cases, you kind of have to know it which is quite challenging to learn. I am also using duolingo but I found it more helpful than text books because it sounds more natural. I know Japanese don't use 私は often as they try to omit it whenever possible. Dolingo keeps sentences true to that and makes you rearrange the sentences over and over to help with practice so I like it. 


    Anyway, best of luck in your Japanese, I totally get your confusion, you are not alone!

    Eat, Pray,  Love. This is a very insightful book about a woman's journey to re-find herself and her own happiness. Very emotional but very well written with an amazing message. Perfect for those of us that reach a certain age and wonder if this is it.

    How are you alike? = Como eres/son semejantes/parecidos? Ejemplo: Those two cars look alike / Esos coches se ven parecidos. La palabra "alike" se refiere a similaridades entre dos o mas concepts o personas. How are you different? = Como eres/son diferente? Ejemplo: My country is more different than yours./ Mi país es mas diferente que el tuyo. La palabra "different" es igual que "diferente" en español. Tus preguntas son para comparar y contrastar elementos.

    I recommend Italian since you have some Spanish language skills. You will find that those languages are based on Latin so they are a bit similar in some ways. You may be able to improve both (Spanish and Italian) without even knowing it i you give it a try!

    Meaning that the graffiti content was about politics. The word is just to highlight the nature of the noun. Another example would be "emotionally-charged" meaning with a lot of emotions. So in this case, with a lot of political content. Hope this helps!

    I just left Sacramento and we had so much rain in the past two months that the city did not know what to do about it. Tons of flooding, closed roads and the dam in Yolo county was scaring us too.  On the bright side California is no longer in a drought!
